Introduction To Stripe

Accepting payments online saves the hassles and unnecessary efforts spent chasing money in your practice.
InfoStar provides the ability for your patients to make easy online payments 24/7 using a merchant service called Stripe which safely and securely processes payments made on your website and deposits funds into your bank account. Stripe integrates perfectly with your website meaning patients can pay no matter if they're on a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Because Stripe is an online processing company, they charge fees just like your card processing service in your office. Stripe charges 2.9% +.30 cents per successful transaction. This fee is not billed but instead immediately deducted from each transaction.


InfoStar is NOT affiliated in any way with Stripe. Stripe is a 3rd party merchant service and is only used as a convenient means to securely accept payments through your website. InfoStar will NEVER have access to your Stripe email address and password credentials and is not responsible for lost password, or the incorrect setup of your Stripe account.

We will guide you through setting up Stripe so that you can start accepting payments through your website immediately. There is some leg-work that needs to be done on your part which includes connecting your bank to Stripe and sending special "keys" to InfoStar that are required for the payment form to function on your website.

Stripe Setup

You will need to setup your Stripe account by visiting www.stripe.com and follow the steps below:

  1. Click the "Sign Up" button on the home page
  2. Enter your email address and create a password for your account
  3. Click "Go straight to your dashboard"

You have sucessfully created your Stripe account. Next you will need to connect Stripe to your bank account...

Connecting Strip to Your Bank Account

  1. From within your Stripe Dashboard, click the "Your Account" link at the top-right of the page
  2. Click "Activate Account"
  3. Carefully fill out the Account Activation form.
  4. Click the "Activate account" button at the bottom of the form.
  5. Stripe will send you an email in which you will need to click an Email Confirmation link. Clicking the link within this confirmation email will verify your email and Stripe account.
  6. You will be directed back to the Stripe log-in page where you will need to log in using your email address and Stripe password.
  7. Once logged-in, you will be presented with an Email Confirmed prompt. Click the "Activate account" button on this prompt.
  8. You are taken back to your Account Activation form where you will need to scroll down to the bottom and click the "Activate account" button on final time.
  9. At the top-left of the Stripe Dashboard, there is a "Live - Test" slider. Click "Live" which will toggle the slider.

You're account is now activated!

Send InfoStar Your Stripe Keys

After you have completed the Stripe setup, the payment form on your website needs to be connected to your stripe account. This is done with the use of special "keys" that Stripe generates and must be implemented into the form itself. You must provide InfoStar with the "Live Key" in order for the form to start functioning.

To locate your "Live Keys":

  1. Navigate to your Stripe Dashboard
  2. Click on your account at the top-right of the Stripe Dashboard
  3. Click "Account Settings"
  4. Click on "API Keys" at the top of the Account Settings page
  5. Send InfoStar BOTH the "Live Secret Key" and "Live Publishable Key" by using the following form:
