The short version

What this policy covers

InfoStar Productions LLC is a family-owned digital agency headquartered in Sacramento County, California. This policy covers infostarproductions.com, which is InfoStar’s own website. It does not cover the websites we build and host for clients; those are governed by each client’s own policy.

What we collect

What you send us

The forms on this site ask for your name, business name, website address, email address, phone number, how and when you prefer to be contacted, the services you are interested in, an approximate budget, and whatever you write in the message. Everything beyond a name and a way to reach you is optional. A form submission is emailed to the InfoStar team. It is not stored in a third-party form service or customer database.

What the site records on its own

Analytics tools, once you have accepted them, record the pages you view, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, your IP address and approximate location, and how long you stay. When you submit a form, we attach the analytics identifier stored in your browser, if one exists, so we can tell which page or campaign led to the inquiry.

Calls and texts

If you call or text 916-988-2323 we keep the ordinary business record of the contact: your number, your name if you give it, and what you asked us about. Text messages are delivered by Twilio and handled in a messaging application InfoStar built and operates.

Third-party tools on this site

• Google Analytics measures how the site is used. Loads only after you accept analytics cookies. You can also block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
• Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) measures whether a Meta ad brought you here. We use it for measurement only, not to build audiences or show you ads elsewhere. Loads only after you accept advertising cookies. You can manage this in your Facebook ad preferences. See Meta’s privacy policy.
• Google reCAPTCHA protects our forms from automated abuse. It is necessary for the forms to work and loads with them. The Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
• Vimeo and YouTube players show videos on some pages. Playing a video may allow the platform to set its own cookies under Vimeo’s or Google’s policy.
• Instagram embeds show our own posts on some pages. Loading an embed may allow Meta to set cookies under its policy.

Each provider processes data under its own policy. You can opt out of interest-based advertising across many networks through the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This site uses three kinds:

• Necessary: a form security token, your cookie-banner choice, and reCAPTCHA. Required for the site to work.
• Analytics: Google Analytics cookies such as _ga. Off until you accept.
• Advertising measurement: Meta Pixel cookies such as _fbp. Off until you accept.

A banner asks for your choice on your first visit. Change it any time with the Privacy choices link in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, which may affect some site functions.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of advertising cookies for that browser and do not load the Meta Pixel. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for what they require.

What we use it for

• Answering your inquiry and following up on it.
• Understanding which pages and campaigns bring visitors and inquiries.
• Measuring whether our own advertising brings visitors, if you have accepted advertising cookies.
• Improving the site.
• Protecting the site and our systems from abuse.

Email

We do not send newsletters or marketing email from this site. Email you receive from InfoStar is written by a person in reply to your inquiry or about work we are doing together.

Text messages

Texting is a way to talk with us, not a marketing channel. If you text our number, or choose text as your preferred contact method on a form, we will reply by text about your request. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Message frequency varies with the conversation. Message and data rates may apply based on your carrier’s terms. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help, or call 916-988-2323.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, other than Twilio, which delivers the messages.

Who else sees it

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop advertising cookies for your browser. Call or text 916-988-2323 or use the contact form. We acknowledge requests within two business days and may need to verify your identity before acting. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

InfoStar is a small business that does not meet the thresholds that make the California Consumer Privacy Act apply. We honor the requests above voluntarily and will follow the Act if it comes to apply to us.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and contact records as long as they are needed for the purpose you sent them, for ongoing work, and for accounting and legal recordkeeping, and no longer. Analytics data follows the retention settings of the tools above. Deletion requests are honored subject to identity verification and lawful recordkeeping exceptions.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS and hosted on Amazon Web Services. Its forms run through InfoStar’s own systems rather than a third-party form builder, and submissions go by email to the InfoStar team. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. Where a change is material we will say what changed.
