Costs and proposals.
How much does a website cost?
A limited-scope small-business quick-launch website is typically $500. A standard business website is typically $3,500 to $6,500. Websites with databases, API integrations, or other custom software receive a custom quote. Every proposal states the scope, price, and expected schedule. See our pricing page for current details.
What is included in hosting?
Basic hosting is typically $25 per month, while larger managed sites typically run $99 to $150 per month. Your proposal states the exact plan and what InfoStar manages. Managed plans can include routine updates to existing hours, services, staff information, and offers. New pages, redesigns, integrations, and functions are scoped separately. See our pricing page for current details.
How much do SEO and other marketing services cost?
SEO is $499 per month for one business and includes local, organic, and AI search optimization. Reputation management is typically $199 per month. Google or Meta advertising is $1,000 to set up and $299 per month to manage one campaign; advertising spend is separate. Larger SEO scopes, additional campaigns, social media management, forms, call tracking, text widgets, and integrations are quoted separately.
What will my proposal include?
Your proposal identifies the work, one-time and recurring charges, expected schedule, client inputs, and known third-party costs. If a useful recommendation falls outside the agreed scope, InfoStar explains it and prices it separately before that work begins.
Planning and approvals.
How does a website project begin?
Start with a free consultation. We ask what the business needs the website to accomplish, who it needs to serve, what content and functions are required, and which existing systems or accounts matter. We then recommend a practical starting point and provide the scope, price, timeline, and client inputs in writing.
What will you need from me?
That depends on the project. Common inputs include accurate business and service information, existing brand assets, access to relevant domains or accounts, requirements for forms or integrations, and timely review of the design and content. Your proposal lists the specific decisions, materials, and access InfoStar needs from you.
Can InfoStar help with website copy and photography?
Yes. InfoStar can write or refine website copy, select stock photography that fits the business, and organize those materials around the approved design. When original photography or video would strengthen the project, we can help identify a qualified local photographer or videographer and coordinate the assets the website needs. Your proposal identifies which content and asset services are included.
Will I see the design before development begins?
Yes. InfoStar presents the proposed homepage direction before development moves forward, and the first direction is approved on nearly every project. If you want to explore a different direction, a standard website project typically includes up to two additional design renderings so the direction can be resolved before the full build proceeds. Larger projects may begin with rough layouts to settle structure and priorities first.
How long does a website take?
A standard business website usually takes 3 to 5 weeks from the first design review through approval. A focused quick-launch may go live sooner when approved content is ready and no custom functions are required. Platforms, integrations, and larger content requirements receive a project-specific schedule.
Websites and technology.
Do you use WordPress?
No. InfoStar designs and develops its websites directly instead of using WordPress. This gives the team direct control over the code, performance, accessibility, and future changes.
Will my website work well on phones and load efficiently?
Yes. InfoStar builds one responsive website that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktop screens. The build uses size-appropriate images so a phone is not required to download the desktop banner, and launch review includes performance and browser checks. Specific performance results depend on the final content, outside scripts, and integrations.
How do you handle website accessibility?
InfoStar addresses accessibility during design and development rather than adding an overlay widget. Before launch, we run automated checks with tools including Axe, Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights, inspect links and error states, review the site and its content manually, and send the finished build to you for proofing. No automated tool or overlay can guarantee legal compliance.
Can you connect the website to software we already use?
Often, yes. InfoStar has built connections involving practice software, registration and payment systems, lead routing, shared records, APIs, and administrative tools. For a new integration, we first confirm what access the outside system provides, what data should move, and who is allowed to use it. The proposal defines the supported workflow and any third-party dependency.
Can you replace a website built by another company without losing the old URLs?
Yes. InfoStar can replace a website regardless of who built it. Before launch, we create a redirect table that maps important existing URLs to their closest relevant pages on the new site, then implement permanent 301 redirects. This keeps visitors from running into avoidable Page Not Found errors and gives search engines a clear route from the old content to the appropriate new pages.
Marketing and results.
How do you decide which marketing services I should start with?
We start with the immediate business problem rather than assuming you need every service. The consultation looks at the current website, how customers find you, where inquiries go, what the team can follow up on, and the available budget. InfoStar then recommends a starting point and identifies anything that can wait.
How do you measure marketing results?
Measurement is defined around the actions that matter for the engagement. Depending on the tools and permissions available, reporting can connect search visibility, advertising spend, calls, forms, campaign conversions, and lead-source data. Financial ROI also requires reliable sales or revenue data from the business; inquiry reporting alone is not the same as profit.
Do you guarantee rankings, leads, or sales?
No. InfoStar does not guarantee a particular ranking, number of leads, sale, or AI recommendation. Search platforms, competition, budgets, market demand, the offer, and the business’s own response process all affect results. We define what can be measured, report the available evidence, and use it to decide what to adjust.
Can AI assistants recommend my business?
AI assistants may cite or recommend businesses when they can find useful, consistent, and well-supported information about them. InfoStar improves that foundation through crawlable service content, structured data that matches the page, consistent business facts, and credible third-party corroboration. We also establish a repeatable prompt benchmark so visibility can be measured over time. No provider can guarantee a recommendation or placement.
Support.
Who will I talk to?
Call or text 916-988-2323 to reach InfoStar directly. Questions and ongoing requests go to people familiar with your website, marketing, and project history.
How do I update my website after launch?
Send the change directly to InfoStar and we will handle it for you; there is no standard content management system to learn or maintain. Most routine changes submitted during business hours are completed the same business day. When SEO is part of the engagement, the change can be reviewed for search optimization before it goes live. New pages, redesigns, integrations, and functions receive a separate scope and schedule.
What happens after my website launches?
A new website benefits from time in real-world use. InfoStar typically includes the first 60 days for reasonable post-launch refinements, especially on custom projects, without an added labor fee. That gives us room to address small issues or adjustments that surface as people use the site. New systems, new pages, and major structural changes are scoped separately.
Terms and ownership.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
InfoStar’s ongoing services are generally month to month. The proposal identifies the billing interval, what InfoStar manages, what the client provides, and any project-specific terms before work begins. Added services or material scope changes are documented and priced before billing changes.
What do I own?
Your domain remains yours whether you keep it with the provider you choose or ask InfoStar to manage it. Your Google Analytics, Search Console, and social media accounts also belong to your business. InfoStar receives management access when a service requires it, and you can add other administrators or ask us to transfer administrative control at any time. The original content you provide remains yours, while your proposal identifies any InfoStar platform components, licensed assets, and third-party tools used for the project.
Fit and location.
Do you only work with dental practices?
No. Dental is a longstanding specialty and the industry where InfoStar started in 1993. We also build for contractors, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, small businesses, mid-size companies, and other organizations. See the industries we know well, or review dental packages and pricing.
Does InfoStar outsource work or use AI-generated content?
InfoStar’s website and marketing work is handled by InfoStar, not outsourced. When a project would benefit from original local photography or video, we may recommend a specialist for the client to engage. We may also occasionally use AI as a production tool to help develop copy or imagery, but it does not bypass our review or your approval. You see and approve website content and creative before it is published.
