A dated, mostly static website.
The site provided basic contact paths but did not give families a complete way to join or register for activities.
Community nonprofit · Rancho Cordova, CA
The Rancho Cordova Police Activities League had a dated website that could publish event flyers, but it could not register local families or help staff manage programs.
InfoStar replaced it with a public website and custom staff system for secure sign-up, local eligibility checks, events, notifications, participation reporting, and data export.
Project details
Project goal
RCPD PAL needed more than a new visual design. It needed a simple public experience backed by tools that reflected how the organization actually runs.
Parents needed to find programs and register their children online. Staff needed to publish events, manage attendance limits and choices, notify members, and keep the participation information required for organizational reporting.
InfoStar designed the website and the back-end together so the public and administrative sides could share one process instead of creating more manual work between them.
Starting point
A new event meant adding an image of its flyer to the website, then using separate spreadsheets and communication steps to keep the details and attendees organized.
The site provided basic contact paths but did not give families a complete way to join or register for activities.
New programs appeared as uploaded flyer images, leaving registration and event details outside the website.
Membership, events, attendees, and reporting required repeated organization across separate files.
Registration and events
Families can move from learning about PAL to registering for a program, while staff control the details behind each event.
Parents and guardians can complete membership sign-up and register children for available PAL activities.
Authorized staff can add new events without reducing them to a flyer image and a separate manual process.
Programs with limited space can reflect how many children may attend instead of relying on a disconnected tally.
Staff can add choices an event requires, including details such as whether lunch is served.
Local eligibility and reporting
RCPD PAL needed to confirm that participating families meet its local program requirements, then preserve the appropriate organizational record for reporting and funding applications.
The secure sign-up collects the details needed to evaluate local program eligibility and continue into PAL activities.
Registration checks the Rancho Cordova-area eligibility information required for participation and program funding.
The dashboard organizes membership and event information and supports data export for the organization’s reporting needs.
This case study intentionally shows no participant records, eligibility documents, registration totals, addresses, administrative screens, or funding files. The participants are minors, and those details remain private regardless of whether they would make the system easier to demonstrate.
Staff tools
The back-end was built around RCPD PAL’s actual process, including the details that generic event software could have forced staff to manage separately.
Working relationship
InfoStar launched the initial website and system in under two months. RCPD PAL can continue bringing new feature ideas to InfoStar as programs and administrative needs evolve.
Because the platform is custom, changes can follow the organization’s process instead of forcing PAL to work around a fixed event or membership template.
“This company is amazing! They are professional and their work is not only done in a timely manner but they are extremely talented in their designs and concepts. Working with Misty and Allison has been a dream. Our website is constantly changing and updating with the nature or our work and they are always on top of it, and even send us reminders form time to time! If we could give more than 5 stars we would.”
Website and operational change
The website gives local families a direct path into PAL programs. Behind it, staff can manage events, registration rules, capacity, choices, notifications, participation reporting, and exports without rebuilding the process in separate spreadsheets.
The platform remains available for continued refinement as the organization’s programs and ideas develop.
