Starting point

A new practice owner needed one website for patients and referring doctors.

InfoStar met Dr. Eric Blasingame through the Seattle Study Club as he was taking over an established periodontal practice from a retiring doctor.

The new website needed to introduce the teamPerio brand, explain treatment to patients, support referring practices, and make the practice easier to find for searches about dental implants, gum disease, and related periodontal services. Existing profiles across Google, Yelp, and other sites also needed to reflect the new name and practice information.

The website was the first project. Secure referrals, a study club system, Dentrix-connected follow-up, additional locations, and reporting became part of the relationship over time.

Two audiences

Each visitor gets a direct path into the same website.

Patients are deciding whether to proceed with care. Referring doctors need to send a patient and supporting records without searching through patient-oriented pages.

For patients

Practice information and a clear next step.

  • Periodontal services and treatment information
  • Pre-operative and post-operative instructions
  • Location details and appointment requests
  • Quick access to pay an open bill

For referring doctors

Referral tools without the patient-page detour.

  • A dedicated professional entry point
  • Secure digital patient referrals
  • Supporting files and X-rays submitted with the referral
  • Study club events and registration
Referring-doctor website The separate professional entry point makes referrals and doctor resources easy to find without sending visitors through patient-oriented content. Move pointer to review the full public page.

Secure referrals

Referrals and supporting files follow one digital path.

Referring offices had been relying on paper forms and different ways of sending patient files and X-rays.

InfoStar built a secure digital referral form that gives referring doctors one place to enter referral details and attach supporting material. The result is a more consistent intake process for the referring office and teamPerio’s staff.

01

The referring office opens the professional side.

The referral path is separated from patient education and appointment content.

02

Referral details and files are submitted together.

The form gives the office one place for the information teamPerio needs.

03

teamPerio receives a consistent digital referral.

The practice can handle the referral through one defined process instead of piecing together several delivery methods.

Dentrix connection

Follow-up can address why a patient paused treatment.

InfoStar connected Dentrix to teamPerio’s marketing system so the next message can reflect information recorded after the consultation.

  1. The consultation is recorded in Dentrix.

The practice continues using the management software already central to its patient workflow.

  2. The practice records why treatment paused.

Financial concerns, fear, timing, and other supported reasons can guide what happens next.

  3. The connection places the patient in the appropriate follow-up.

InfoStar learned the available APIs and built the exchange between the practice and marketing systems.

  4. The message addresses the recorded concern.

Cost-related follow-up can introduce financing. Fear-related follow-up can provide reassurance and information about sedation options.

Dentrix developer licenseteamPerio secured the developer access required for InfoStar to build the connection.
Two systems connectedThe work required understanding the APIs and supported actions on both sides.
Adjusted with the practiceteamPerio defined what success looked like and worked with InfoStar as the connection was refined.

Study club system

The referring-doctor relationship continues beyond the referral form.

Dr. Blasingame lectures and runs a periodontal study club. InfoStar built the system used to publish events and manage participation.

01

Event details

teamPerio can add new lectures and publish the information participating doctors need.

02

Registration

Doctors can register for a study club event online.

03

Payments

Event payments can be collected as part of registration.

04

Attendance

The organizer can track participation for continuing-education administration.

Working relationship

The practice team stays directly involved in each project.

InfoStar works with Dr. Blasingame, his wife, and teamPerio’s marketing coordinators to turn practice needs into working website and system changes.

The team communicates what it needs, defines what a successful result should look like, and reviews adjustments as the work develops. InfoStar has also collaborated with dental consultant David Schwab on teamPerio and Central Valley Perio.

The relationship began in 2017 and has continued through website revisions, new locations, system work, and regular reporting on website visits and page activity.

Website timeline and support

The website has continued to change with the practice.

The initial teamPerio website moved from mockup to launch in about 30 days. As the practice added locations, InfoStar updated the website to support them.

The work now spans the public website, referring-doctor tools, study club administration, Dentrix-connected follow-up, profile updates, and regular website reporting.
